Volunteer Information

If you would like to volunteer to work with our Youth Initiative Programs, you MUST be Risk Management cleared.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Suffolk Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. We appreciate your willingness to help our chapter continue to make a positive impact on the Suffolk, VA and surrounding communities. Below you will find instructions to help guide you as you complete your application packet.

If you are a first-time volunteer or an existing volunteer whose clearance is expiring, you will be required to submit the following:

In addition to submitting your volunteer packet, you need to attend a Volunteer Training and complete a Face-to-Face Interview (in person or virtual).

If you are a returning volunteer, and it has not been 3 years since your initial clearance, you are required to submit the following:

In addition to submitting your A-11, you will also need to attend a Volunteer Training.

The application must be submitted when initially volunteering with youth and every 3 years after, if you wish to continue volunteering with our youth programs.

Volunteers, or those interested in volunteering with our youth programs, must attend Risk Management Training annually.

If you have submitted an application or Appendix A-11 Form (for returning volunteers only), please check your email or this site for upcoming training dates.

New Volunteers, or persons renewing their volunteer status after 3 years, MUST complete a background screening to be a volunteer with Youth programs
