Concerns about America’s physical and mental health have not escaped Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is an organization of predominately African American women. DeltaCare is a wellness initiative under the programmatic thrust of Physical and Mental Health. The DeltaCare was created to encourage self-care through physical wellness, emotional wellness, and awareness/advocacy.

Suffolk Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. wants to positively impact our members, our families, and the Suffolk Community. The Physical & Mental Health Committee focuses on creating physical and mental health programs to promote living holistic and healthy lives. Suffolk Alumnae Chapter has developed and supported programs by collaborating with other Hampton Roads area organizations. Our programs focus on providing health education, health promotion, and disease prevention to reduce health disparities and mental illnesses in African-American communities. We support the St. Jude Walk to End Childhood Cancer, Sickle Cell Foundation, March of Dimes, Salvation Army, Domestic Violence Awareness Month, American Cancer Society Relay for Life, Suffolk Literacy Council, Western Tidewater Free Health Clinic, Obici Helping Hands, and our Community Health Fair.
